DUSHANBE, October 10, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan has yielded 342,900 tons of cotton by October 9, which comprises 62.7 percent of this year’s target determined at 547,000 tons, the Ministry of Agriculture said.
A source at the Ministry of Agriculture said that district subordinate to the center (RRP) top the country’s cotton-growing regions in terms of a progress of the cotton harvesting campaign. They have yielded more than 41,700 tons of cotton so far, which is 89.2 percent of the target. Their target is 46,700 tons of cotton.
Cotton-growing farms in Khatlon have yielded 204,463 tons of cotton by October 9, which is 62.1 percent of the target. They have pledged to produce 329,000 tons of cotton this year.
Sughd province has gathered more than 96,700 tons of cotton or 56.5 percent of the target by October 9. The target of the cotton growers in Sughd is 171,300 tons.
