DUSHANBE, September 26, Asia-Plus -- Cooperation in the educational sector is a priority in the bilateral strategic cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, President Emomali
Rahmonov remarked at a meeting dedicated to the 10 th anniversary of Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) in Dushanbe on September 25.
He noted that the university can and should play an active role in strengthening the study of the
Russian language in Tajikistan. He emphasized the necessity of admitting more students from the provinces, especially in the philology faculty.
”After graduating from the university they will return to their homelands and this will address the problem of the shortage of Russian-language teachers in the remote districts of Tajikistan,” the president stressed.
Rahmonov also said that he had ordered his staff to work on providing a new building for the university and promised to build a hostel for RTSU.
