KULOB, August 18, Asia-Plus -- An official opening of a museum of literary and written heritage was held in Kulob today.
The museum is located in the building of the former city’s museum of local lore, history, and economy.
Iran has provided US$200,000 for re-equipment and rehabilitation of the building. Deputy Culture Minister, Mr. Amirkhon Ahmadjonov, and deputy chief of Iran’s diplomatic mission in Dushanbe, Mr. Shirkat, attended the museum-opening ceremony.
Today, Iranian guests are also scheduled to visit the Kulob Teachers’ Training College and the site for the state-of-the-art library, the construction, which will be also funded by Iran. They also will familiarize themselves with the jubilee objects constructed in Kulob on occasion of the 2700 th anniversary of the city.
