Number of internet users in Uzbekistan grew by 22.5% in 2008 to 2.4 million users, a session of the Complex on information systems and telecommunications of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan said.

The session said number of mobile communication in Uzbekistan reached 12.5 million users, reported Uzreport.

Enterprises of the complex produced goods and rendered services for 1.493 trillion soums or up 56.8% year-on-year.

The complex attracted US$243.87 million of foreign direct investments, which allowed to fulfill investment programme by 135%.
