DUSHANBE , March 6, Asia-Plus - A large amount of raw opium were intercepted by police in the Danghara district yesterday.  

According to information from the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police), when searching a car “VAZ-2109” belonging to the 49-year-old resident of the Hamadoni district Doniyor Shukurov at the traffic police checkpoint on the Shar-Shar pass police found more than 44 kilograms of raw opium. 

The car driver was arrested on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking and criminal proceedings were instituted.
