During a visit to the southern province of Khatlon, President Emomali Rahmon has expressed his views on observance of law and order in the area.
He noted this during an address to a meeting of reginal administrators in Khatlon’s Danghara district on April 27.
The Tajik president’s official website says that during his speech at the meeting, Emomali Rahmon, expressed his views on the observance of law and order in Khatlon province, prevention of any violations and crimes and ensuring the rule of law, and set specific tasks for the officials of relevant ministries and agencies.
Taking into account the current difficult international situation and climate change impact on the country’s economy, Rahmon reportedly emphasized the significance of to pay more attention to the development of the agricultural sector than at any other time, to increase the planting of crops and the production of agricultural products, and to supply the country's consumer market with food products in all seasons of the year.
Regional administrators of Khatlon were charged to work together with the Ministry of Education and Science to solve existing shortcomings, in particular, to provide educational institutions with teachers, to repair and renovate educational institutions.
They were also instructed to work together with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population to take adequate measures to eliminate the shortage of doctors and medical workers, to create good working conditions for medical workers, and to eliminate other existing deficiencies.
Khatlon regional administrators were ordered to take immediate measures to ensure the regular supply of the domestic market with high-quality products and increase the country's export potential. For this, they tasked to take measures in cooperation with domestic and foreign entrepreneurs to increase the area of modern greenhouses and cold storages, to organize agricultural product packaging enterprises and to establish logistics centers.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzod and members of the government also attended the meeting.
The Ministry of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir was reportedly tasked to take measures together with local authorities of Khatlon province and investors to revitalize the activities of existing enterprises and restore the activities of inactive enterprises.
